NE was the most coloured sounding, seemed to hide a lot of details but had a fairly musical, mid-focused sound, could sound uncontrolled in very intense tracks I am curious to see if there is more room to improve with other op amps?
I don't know what to look for replacement.

You may understand this better than me, but would seem to suggest that this op amp cannot deliver much more than 5 mA without difficulty.

Just finished soldering the jacks and 9V plug, ready to box up and drop in my ICs TL, JRC, pretty much any dual opamp will work. The OPA seems overkill in that circuit anyway. Input offset voltage is guaranteed and offset drift is guaranteed to be less than 0. Input common-mode range includes the negative supply and to within 1 V of the positive supply over the full supply range.
Phase reversal protection is designed into the OPx13 family for cases where input voltage range is exceeded. Output voltage swings also include the negative supply and go to within 1 V of the positive rail. Digital scales and other strain gage applications benefit from the very low noise and low drift of the OPx13 family. Other applications include use as a buffer or amplifier for both analog-to-digital ADC and digital-to-analog DAC sigma-delta converters.
Often these converters have high resolutions requiring the lowest noise amplifier to utilize their full potential. Many of these converters operate in either single-supply or low-supply voltage systems, and attaining the greater signal swing possible increases system performance. The product is appropriate for new designs but newer alternatives may exist. The universal precision op amp evaluation boards have been designed and optimized for many circuit configurations allowing the users to best suit their applications.

Quickly evaluate the tradeoffs in op amp specifications - including gain-bandwidth, noise, and supply current — to determine the best filter design for your requirements. Use Photodiode Wizard to design a transimpedance amplifier circuit to interface with a photodiode.
Select a photodiode from the library included in the tool, or enter custom photodiode specifications.

Since there seems to be no reviews of Burson opamps, here goes. The Burson Dual OP Amp is a discrete design, made with transistors and resistors mounted on a small circuit board. It is not an IC. I have read somewhere that Audio-GD even made the first generation Burson opamps. Burson even has a headphone amp, the HA The Burson is better.
Same cable was used for all headphones for this test. Only the HD is moded for sound. The HFI has been dedioded. Others only have the cable mod.Posted: Tue Dec 08, pm. I've studied around in different forums and found information about differences between the resistor value going to ground. For one of the OP amp it's optimal with 1k and for the other one it's 2k. Sadly i've found controversial and opposite information, then i just have to ask you guys, which one is which? Another isue, this time i've added the TLE virtual ground voltage rail splitter in the PSU, It's a really nice little component, which i can recommend.
Hi, For typical use either will do and in reality the value of the resistor can vary over a wide range. Gain is about 40 and 55 db with the RIAA network in the feed back loop. The resulting preamp is very quiet and performs with out any issues. I also use the OPA as a single gain stage that will drive headphones with a K pot on the non-inverting side and a fixed 10K on the inverting one with a K feed back resistor.
The one area that I feel you might look into is a higher DC voltage. IMO the choice of either IC is not a big factor as both are quite suitable for audio. The value of the inverting input to ground resistor is not critical. My experience has been than anything from 47R to about 1meg is OK.
For very low values however I think that making it roughly equal to the one on the inverting side seems to be advisable. My budget phono preamp deviates from this obviously, but I can not detect any problems with how it performs. If anything, it has a more 'neutral' sound than the possibly slightly euphonic OPA, but its performance is very reliable and dependable and of a very high standard, which possibly explains its long standing use in 'professional' audio gear.

G'day all, just an academic comment re the NE, reading the various manufacturers comments it seems that the NE was never really designed as a 'hi fi' chip, but more for professional audio and high performance line driver applications.
